Ingredients

Turkey and cheese cracker lunchables
  • 8 oz sliced deli turkey Use thinly sliced deli turkey for easy stacking.
  • 8 cheddar or American cheese, cut into squares Cut into squares sized to fit the crackers.
  • 24 whole grain or multigrain crackers Choose crackers that are sturdy enough to hold toppings.
  • 1 Grapes or veggie sticks, for serving Pack separately if you want them to stay crisp.

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Prep the turkey and cheese
  1. Cut the turkey and cheese slices into cracker-sized squares, so each piece matches the footprint of the crackers.
  2. Cut the turkey and cheese pieces evenly for consistent stacking and quick assembly at lunchtime.
Build the lunchbox
  1. Arrange the crackers in one section of a lunchbox container.
  2. Layer the turkey and cheese squares in a separate section so kids can stack their own.
  3. Add grapes or veggie sticks to a third section for balance.
  4. Seal the container and refrigerate until ready to pack for lunch.
Pack and serve
  1. Serve chilled, letting kids build their own cracker stacks.

Notes

Pro tip: If you’re using moist deli turkey, separate components with a small piece of parchment or keep the grapes/veggies in their own section to prevent crackers from softening. Refrigerate assembled lunchables up to 24 hours (best texture the same day). Freeze is not recommended because the crackers lose crispness. For a lower-sodium option, choose reduced-sodium deli turkey and reduced-sodium cheese.
