Crisp the ground beef

- Let the beef sit undisturbed for 2–3 minutes to develop crispy edges before stirring.
- Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
Glaze and serve
- Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil, tossing until glazed and sticky.
- Serve the crispy seasoned beef over the cooked white rice.
- Top with the sliced scallions and sesame seeds.
Notes
Pro tip: don’t keep moving the beef—those 2–3 undisturbed minutes are what build the crackly, crisp edges. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in a skillet or microwave until hot. Freezing is not ideal for the texture of the rice. For a gluten-free swap, use gluten-free soy sauce in the same amount.
