Ingredients

Rice cereal squares
  • 9 cup rice cereal squares
White chocolate coating
  • 2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup freeze-dried apple pieces
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Cinnamon sugar dusting
  • 2 cup powdered sugar mixed with 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon for the cinnamon sugar mixture

Method

Melt the white chocolate
  1. Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave using 30-second bursts, stirring between each burst until smooth and pourable.
  2. Stir in 1 tsp cinnamon and the vanilla extract until fully combined and glossy.
Coat the cereal
  1. Pour the melted cinnamon white chocolate over the rice cereal squares in a large bowl and toss gently until the cereal pieces are coated.
  2. Fold in the crushed freeze-dried apple pieces so they’re evenly distributed.
Dust with cinnamon sugar
  1. Transfer the coated cereal to a large bag with the cinnamon sugar mixture (powdered sugar mixed with cinnamon).
  2. Shake the bag until every piece is fully coated in the cinnamon sugar dusting.

Notes

Crush the freeze-dried apple pieces gently by hand to keep some texture instead of turning everything to powder. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days; it’s best kept dry. Freezing isn’t recommended because the cereal can lose its crisp bite. For a dairy-free swap, use dairy-free white chocolate chips (measure the same amount) so the coating still melts smoothly.
